Painting: 4th floor lobby
cm-pogl_art02a.jpg
This painting of a bar scene has alot going on in it. Located between the main bar and one of the restaurants.
cm-pogl_art02b.jpg
Left section: notice the man throwing the bottle, and the woman about to stab the kissing man in the back.
cm-pogl_art02c.jpg
Notice the left hand of the kissing man holds a gun which is firing and the bullet apparently is striking the arm of a woman in the background. The glazed and upturned eyes suggest intoxicated indifference to the scene. The many claw-like hands grope and paw.
cm-pogl_art02d.jpg
The man with the cyan shirt is also firing a pistol, narrowly missing the redhead in the foreground.
cm-pogl_art02e.jpg
It's not clear where the projectile hits, but notice the eyes.
cm-pogl_art02f.jpg
A few creepy characters lurk in the background.
cm-pogl_art03a.jpg
The blue man listens to his stereo set. The strange projections on the head are his ears.
cm-pogl_art03b.jpg
The good taste in music is evident.
cm-pogl_art03c.jpg
The sounds apparently howl and shriek down upon the happy listener. From the looks of the painting, one might believe that the music is being played backwards, thus releasing the encoded devils, although it is obvious that the turntable's tone arm is on the correct side of the record spindle for forward play. The representation of the sounds is very strong.

Left Channel sound.

Right Channel sound.
cm-pogl_ashtray01.jpg

cm-pogl_billiards.jpg
Two billiards tables are available.
cm-pogl_comfychairs01.jpg
One of many sets of comfortable furniture in the spacious common halls and lobbys.
cm-pogl_dining.jpg
Fine Dining is the rule at Club Med and all I can say is that the food here is generally better than what we see at most hotels in the USA. The style of service is buffet, with many tables of cheeses including brie and blue, fruits, vegetables, meats, pastas, and wines.
cm-pogl_fine-woodwork.jpg
The fine woodwork and floor tiles are cleaned and waxed at all times. The wood is really beautiful.
cm-pogl_foyer01.jpg
4th floor foyer with comfy setting.

Alcatel lobby phone.
cm-pogl_lobbyphones-alcatel-02.jpg
Alcatel lobby phone. These are really cool payphones.
cm-pogl_lobbyphones01.jpg
Lobby phone booths. The rich woodwork is highly polished and of the highest quality.
cm-pogl_jorge-sampaio_pres.jpg
President Jorge Sampaio of Portugal (2000). A portrait hangs in the lobby.
cm-pogl_room-icom.jpg
A room speaker which would provide pleasant sound for relaxation or partying. This one did not, perhaps because it was the middle of December (off season).
cm-pogl_room-toilets.jpg
2 toilets in every room. The bathroom has a built in hair drier and also a 110V/220V outlet for shavers.
cm-pogl_room-tv.jpg
The TV was tiny, but you don't go to the Club med to watch TV.
cm-pogl_room_ghastly-art.jpg
The print was in the room. The other few rooms I saw also had similar art, some had a snake with the woman. It is a disturbing image and you have to just ignore it.
cm-pogl_roomdoor.jpg
Cool old fashioned door. The large central knob does not turn, it is but a handle. the room locks well with a key. Most rooms have small safes.
cm-pogl_roomhall.jpg
The hall lighting is very soft.
cm-pogl_tstat.jpg
Thermostat. note: the hotel uses central chiller, so you are only going to get so much AC. It is very humid in December, so we would have appreciated a means of dehumidifying the air.
